From the ashes of war, a father rose—not with weapons, but with compassion. On January 7, 1979, Mr. Sao Sary began a mission to heal a wounded Cambodia. Long before the idea of a “one dollar campaign Cambodia” became a rallying call for transformation, he embodied what meaningful grassroots impact looks like. In a time when hope was scarce and the future of countless children hung in the balance, he became a shield and a builder. He protected those who had no one, fought for dignity, and laid the foundation for healing.
Until his final day on December 2, 1997, Sao Sary’s life was a testament to what love, resilience, and vision can create.
🔥 A Legacy Continued
n 2006, his oldest son, Mr. Uon Vichetr, took up the torch—not to replicate the past, but to magnify it. From humble beginnings, he founded the Sao Sary Foundation and dedicated over a decade (2006–2019) to building safe spaces, clean water systems, education pathways, and family empowerment programs. He turned seeds of suffering into gardens of hope—and laid the groundwork for what would become the one dollar campaign Cambodia, a movement rooted in legacy and scaled through impact.
Now, in Phase 2 of the mission (2026–2036), the Foundation is scaling across Cambodia with a bold plan to build futures where none were guaranteed:
Construct 41 Health Centers, 41 Communal Halls, and 41 Police Stations
Expand clean and safe drinking water access for thousands of families
Launch the Roots & Resilience Program to transform communities through education, protection, and sustainable infrastructure
