Each $50 gift equips a child with a bicycle, school uniform, and essential supplies, helping them reach school safely, stay in class, and avoid the risks of dropout, exploitation, and abuse. ✍️ Campaign Story
In Cambodia’s quiet villages, to sponsor a bicycle is to offer far more than a mode of transport—it’s a lifeline to education, dignity, and protection. Since 2006, Sao Sary Foundation has delivered over 2,813 bicycles to the poorest students across the country, starting with just 55 and growing into a movement for change.
In 2024, with support from Ark Electronics and Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defense, we reached one of Koh Kong Province’s most underserved schools. Together, we gave students the means to attend school with pride and purpose—sponsored bicycles to shorten long, dangerous journeys, uniforms to restore dignity, schoolbags filled with supplies to spark learning, and laptops and a printer to strengthen local administration.
Each bicycle, whether imported from Japan, China, or sourced locally, becomes a shield—keeping children in school, easing family burdens, and reducing risks of exploitation in regions where poverty is deeply entrenched and schools can be miles away.
Looking ahead to the 2025–2026 academic year, we aim to empower even more children and communities through expanded aid, digital education, and child protection. Just $50—thanks to donor matching—can sponsor a bicycle and place it in a child’s hands, opening the door to a safer, brighter future.

2024 Highlights: Delivering Hope, One Student at a Time
In the academic year 2024–2025, Sao Sary Foundation brought transformative support to one of Koh Kong Province’s most vulnerable schools, empowering students and educators alike. Through our mission to sponsor a bicycle for every child in need, we provided 113 bicycles—giving children the ability to travel to school safely and reliably, no longer burdened by long, exhausting walks.
The distribution of 339 school uniforms, with three sets for each student, restored dignity and classroom equality, allowing every child to feel proud and included. Each of the 113 schoolbags came packed with stationery kits, sparking joy and equipping students with the tools they needed to fully participate in their education.
To strengthen the backbone of the school’s operations, two laptops and one printer were donated—enhancing administrative capacity and laying the groundwork for lasting, meaningful change.
By choosing to sponsor a bicycle, donors helped turn long journeys into safe rides, restored dignity through uniforms, and ignited learning with essential supplies. Together, we’re building a future where every child can reach school with pride, purpose, and protection.
🎯 2025–2026 Goals: Scaling Impact Across Cambodia
Building on the success in Koh Kong Province, Sao Sary Foundation is poised to expand its reach and deepen its impact across Cambodia. Over the next two years, SSF will prioritize access to education for at least 1,000 more rural students—ensuring they receive the transportation and materials needed to thrive. Through our mission to sponsor a bicycle for every child in need, we aim to eliminate long, unsafe commutes and keep children in school.
In tandem, the Foundation will deliver customized aid to five high-need schools in underserved provinces, targeting the root causes of educational inequity. This includes strengthening school infrastructure through clean water systems, digital tools, and safer learning environments designed to support both students and staff.
All of these efforts will be woven into SSF’s flagship Roots & Resilience Community Development Program, creating a sustainable model for long-term transformation and ensuring that each intervention contributes to a broader vision of empowered, resilient communities.
