Building Schools, Building Futures — explore how clean water, bicycles, and education projects are transforming lives in Cambodia.

Build the School Cambodia groundbreaking ceremony at Prekyang Primary School

The Sao Sary Foundation Projects begin with one of the most transformative initiatives: Build the School Cambodia. This project empowers children in Prekyang village through education by constructing a new five‑classroom school building. More than 200 students now have safe, inspiring spaces to learn, grow, and dream. This milestone was made possible through the collective support of the Lions Club of Ampang, Malaysia, and the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia, whose contributions launched the first phase of construction.

Education is more than a right—it is the foundation for opportunity, dignity, and long‑term growth. By investing in schools, the Sao Sary Foundation Projects ensure that children in rural Cambodia can break cycles of poverty and build brighter futures.

Among the Sao Sary Foundation Projects, the Bike to School Program stands out as a lifeline for rural students. In Cambodia’s villages, a bicycle is not just transport—it is access to education, dignity, and protection. Since 2006, the foundation has delivered over 3,813 bicycles to the poorest students across the country, starting with just 55 and growing into a movement for change.

In the academic year 2024–2025, the Sao Sary Foundation brought transformative support to one of Koh Kong Province’s most vulnerable schools. With 113 bicycles distributed, children could finally travel safely and reliably to school, no longer burdened by exhausting walks. This initiative demonstrates how the Sao Sary Foundation Projects combine practical solutions with long‑term impact, ensuring that education is accessible to all.

Water for Life Kampong Speu – Clean Water for Communities

The Water for Life Kampong Speu Project is another flagship of the Sao Sary Foundation Projects, addressing one of Cambodia’s most pressing challenges: access to safe, clean water. By combining infrastructure development with community training, the project has delivered lasting improvements in health, education, and economic opportunity across rural villages.

Clean water is essential for learning, health, and dignity. Through wells, bio‑sand filters, and water towers, the Sao Sary Foundation Projects ensure that families no longer suffer from unsafe water sources. Children can attend school without illness, parents can focus on livelihoods, and communities can thrive.
