Since 2006, Sao Sary Foundation’s partial sponsorships have empowered children and youths—especially girls—to stay in school and pursue their potential via our sponsor a child in Cambodia monthly. Sponsor a Child in Cambodia monthly through the Sao Sary Foundation’s flexible sponsorship program. We offer three sponsorship types to meet the diverse needs of vulnerable children: full, educational, and partial.
These sponsorships support children and youths who have been, or are at serious risk of being, trafficked or abused. Most live in slum areas around provincial capitals or in remote villages plagued by food insecurity and household debt.
Local leaders and community members play a vital role in identifying at-risk children, working closely with our field staff. This collaboration helps SSF build trust and shared responsibility in the fight against trafficking and exploitation.
Before any sponsorship is granted, our Child Protection team conducts a comprehensive risk assessment. This includes discussions with both the child and their family to ensure transparency and readiness.
Once approved, families enter into a sponsorship agreement outlining the support they’ll receive and their shared responsibilities. Regular follow-up visits—sometimes on a weekly basis—help ensure the child receives consistent guidance and support.
Over the past few years, we’ve refined our program to be more responsive to sponsors and the communities we serve. As of early this year, 8,913 children and youths are benefiting from sponsorships.
Our sponsors span the globe, from individuals to organizations, and we actively encourage connection between them and the children they support. Through Sponsor a Child in Cambodia monthly, you choose between full, educational, or partial sponsorship—and become part of a life-changing journey.
Full sponsorships ($100 per month):
The number of children and youths receiving full sponsorships through Sponsor a Child in Cambodia monthly has risen to 169. These sponsorships cover all living and educational expenses as well as pocket money for children and youths who lived at the Protection Center. Funding also helps support their biological or adoptive families whom we partner with and our Protection and Learning centers.
Partial sponsorships ($35 per month):
SSF introduced partial sponsorships (for children and youths who live with their families) in 2006 in its fundraising campaign namely; Sponsor a Child in Cambodia monthly. These sponsorships allow the children and youths to remain in school, and include financial support for school fees and materials as well as food. Almost all of these, 86, go to girls.
Educational sponsorships ($18 per month):
Educational sponsorships (financial support for school fees and materials, including bicycles) have increased to 8513 this year. These sponsorships are making education possible for 8513 children who face a high risk of any form of child labour, trafficking and abuse and it can happen so far because your sponsorship via Sponsor a Child in Cambodia monthly’s fundraising initiatives.

Her family works tirelessly in the rice fields, but their income barely covers daily meals, leaving little for school supplies, uniforms, or medical care.
